How Exent worksGuide

Can I Analyze My Portfolio From a Screenshot?

Yes. Exent reads your holdings from a screenshot or a file, with no brokerage login. Here is what you can upload, how the reading works, and how to do it from Robinhood, Fidelity, Schwab, Wealthsimple and other brokers.

Key takeaways

  • Yes. Upload a screenshot of your holdings and Exent’s AI reads tickers, shares and values, then runs the full analysis in about a minute. No brokerage login or account linking.
  • Inside the app you can also upload CSV, Excel (.xlsx) or PDF statements, or paste a Google Sheet link shared as “anyone with the link can view”.
  • It works with any broker that shows your holdings on screen: Robinhood, Fidelity, Schwab, Interactive Brokers, Wealthsimple, Trading 212, Revolut and others.
  • You review the holdings Exent read before anything is saved, and you can fix or add positions by ticker search.

Can I upload a screenshot of my brokerage and get an analysis?

Yes. Take a screenshot of the screen that lists your positions, upload it, and Exent extracts every row: the security name, the ticker, the number of shares and the market value or portfolio percentage where they are shown. The holdings then go through the same 16 checks as any other portfolio, from concentration and correlation clusters to crash replays and a risk‑matched benchmark.

AI is used only to read the image. The analysis itself is calculated by quantitative models on market data, so the numbers do not depend on how a chatbot phrases them.

What formats can I upload?

There are two places to add holdings, and both work without connecting an account.

WhereWhat you can addLimits
Portfolio check on exent.aiScreenshots (PNG, JPEG, WebP), or type at least 2 tickers with a $ value or share countUp to 5 screenshots, 5 MB each
Exent app: uploadScreenshots, CSV, TSV, TXT, Excel (.xlsx) or PDF statementsUp to 10 files at once; images 5 MB, documents 8 MB
Exent app: Google SheetA docs.google.com/spreadsheets linkSheet shared as “anyone with the link can view”
Exent app: searchAdd or correct any holding by ticker or nameOne at a time

On a computer you can also paste a screenshot straight from the clipboard into the upload area. If your positions run over several screens, upload several screenshots: Exent combines them into one list and merges a position that appears twice.

How does Exent read a screenshot?

  1. Every row is extracted. The reader is told to output every visible holding, not a summary.
  2. Tickers are matched to the right listing. Non‑US shares get their exchange suffix even when the broker hides it, for example .TO for the Toronto Stock Exchange or .L for London.
  3. Crypto and crypto ETFs are told apart. A spot Bitcoin position on a crypto exchange is read as Bitcoin; a Bitcoin ETF such as IBIT stays an ETF.
  4. Average cost is read only when it is shown. If your screenshot has an average cost column, it feeds cost basis and P&L. Exent never guesses it from the current price.
  5. You confirm before saving. The holdings appear in a table where you can check amounts, fix a ticker or remove a row.

I have money at Robinhood, Fidelity, Schwab or Wealthsimple: how do I analyze it?

The steps are the same for every broker: open the view that lists all your positions, make sure the ticker and either the quantity or the market value are visible, and capture it. What changes is the best format.

If you hold several accounts, you can analyze them together or keep them apart: see multiple portfolios. Canadian investors have a dedicated guide at Exent for Canadian investors.

Tips for a clean import

  • Capture the positions list, not a chart: rows with tickers read best.
  • Keep the quantity or market value column in view; one of the two is enough.
  • Use several screenshots rather than one tiny, zoomed-out image.
  • Check the review table for funds or foreign shares with similar names.
  • Add anything the screenshot missed with ticker search before you save.
