The 3 power stocks Stock Radar just added

Added to its Strong Buy list on Oct 15 and 16. Two make electricity. One makes the gear that carries it into data centers. Oct 16, 2026 closing prices; names and tickers are for members.

AI runs on chips. Chips run on power.

Follow the money from the AI build‑out to the companies that sell the power.

  1. $735B+

Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft plan over $735 billion of capital spending in 2026 as AI data centers go up.

  2. 4.4% → up to 12%

Data centers used 4.4% of US electricity in 2023. A US government lab sees 6.7% to 12% by 2028.

  3. 11×

The price to keep power plants ready in PJM, the biggest US grid, rose from $28.92 to $333.44 per MW-day in three auctions.

  4. 40%

Data centers drove 40% of that $16.4 billion bill. The money goes to those who make the power and the gear that moves it.

What power plants get paid to stand ready in PJM

Capacity price per MW-day, by delivery year. The last three hit the price cap.

  • 2024/25$28.92
  • 2025/26$269.92
  • 2026/27 (cap)$329.17
  • 2027/28 (cap)$333.44
  • 2028/29 (cap)$325.00

PJM capacity auctions, as reported by Utility Dive and the American Public Power Association.

PJM serves more than 67 million people in 13 states and Washington, DC. Its last two auctions fell more than 6,600 megawatts short of the power it says it needs. Data centers are the main reason demand jumped. First the bottleneck was chips. Now it is the plug.

Stock Radar flagged power before. GE Vernova rose 56% in 90 days.

Power stocks swing with power prices, weather, interest rates and politics. PJM's capacity price is now capped, so that tailwind can't grow while the cap holds. None of this is a forecast. It is why the analysts' targets are opinions, not promises.
